Former traditional Makgeolli factory - Art Maeul Misul in situ project , Hamchang  2015

Former Makgeolli * Factory  is a work in situ and ephemeral in this historical and architectural context of a fermented alcohol plant: protuberance hypertrophy outgrowth of a wall or an entire room, the sculpted work interrogates the memory of places, changes our perception of space and our wandering codes... it reveals the insidious action of the environment on the time to deliver the story ensuing between past and present.

*Makgeolli (막걸리) is a lightly sweet alcoholic beverage native to Korea. It is made from rice or wheat mixed with nuruk, a Korean fermentation starter.
